About spootnik.org
Welcome
You’ll find here mostly technical material related to my areas of interest. These areas include:
- Asynchronous and Event based programming
- Functional programming, usually with clojure, my favorite functional and concurrent programming language
- The ruby ecosystem
- Devops related matters
- Big data computing
- OpenBSD: An operating system I develop for in my spare time
- relayd: The load-balancer I originally wrote for OpenBSD
I currently work for SmallRivers and am proud to be part of the paper.li team, here are the papers I curate:
Every once in a while, I might talk about what I do in my leisure time, which mostly involves rock climbing, ice climbing or downhill skateboarding.
Projects
Most of the code I share now sits on github, the rest is part of the OpenBSD source tree. Things of note include:
- relayd: OpenBSD’s default load-balancer which I originally wrote
- ypldap: OpenBSD’s LDAP user and group support daemon which I originally wrote
- smtpd: OpenBSD’s upcoming SMTP daemon which I helped bootstrap.
- A few Clojure libraries
- A bunch of contributions to existing projects, in C, Ruby and Clojure
Identities
You’ll find me on IRC (freenode), github and twitter as pyr. Given my usual handle and the domain this site runs on, my mail address shouldn’t be too hard to figure out.
